The Luna Theater is a 501c(3) non-profit theater company dedicated to presenting the Philadelphia and South Jersey area with thought-provoking works by contemporary and classical playwrights. We seek to develop an audience of open-minded theatergoers that cross cultural, ethnic and social lines by producing drama that is intense, challenging, educational and entertaining.

Neil Hartley

Neill Hartley is involved in several aspects of professional theater.

As an actor, he has appeared in many regional productions including

Working, Sweeney Todd and Company at the Arden Theatre, God’s Country and

Aunt Dan and Lemon with InterAct Theatre, and Measure for Measure,

Twelfth Night, and A Midsummer Nights Dream for the Philadelphia

Shakespeare Festival.  Most recently he appeared in Batboy, The Musical with

1812 Productions, which won a Philadelphia Barrymore award for best

ensemble.  He has three one-man shows that he regularly presents: The

Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Spirit of Lindbergh, and Sherlock Holmes and

The Speckled Band.  His work can also be seen in commercials, industrials

and feature films.


Neill has directed productions of The Zoo Story, Oleanna and No Exit

for Luna Theater, and will be directing next season’s productions of

Death and the Maiden and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?  He has also

recently directed shows for Philadelphia Young Playwrights Festival

and the University of the Arts.  He is an assistant professor of voice

and speech at he University of the Arts and has also acted as a speech/dialect

coach for several professional theater productions.
