LUNA THEATER LITERARY DEPARTMENT SUBMISSION POLICY

Luna Theater Company has presented a number of Philadelphia, U.S. and world premieres, and we are always on the lookout for new works that fit within the Luna aesthetic. And what is that aesthetic? Basically, we’re looking for intimate, intelligent and intense plays that delve into the human psyche, and deal with big ideas. You can check out our Production History www.lunatheater.org/past_productions for more info.

Due to the volume of inquiries we receive, we are only able to accept full-length scripts from literary agents and theatre professionals with whom we have an existing relationship.

If that does not apply to you, here is what you should send us:

·        One-page synopsis

·        10 to 20-page dialogue sample

·        Author’s bio

·        E-mail submissions (.doc, .docx or .pdf formats only) with the subject line “(Last Name)/Play Submission/Date of Submission” (i.e. “Smith/Play Submission/062311”)

However, here is what you should not send us:

·        Unfinished plays

·        Plays longer than 90 minutes

·        Plays with an intermission

·        Full unsolicited scripts

·        Musicals

·        Children’s shows

·        Snail mail submissions

Submissions that do not meet our requirements will not be read.

However, submissions that do meet our requirements will receive an e-mail acknowledgement of receipt within 48 hours. You will also receive an e-mailed response as to whether we would like to read the full script within one month.

Submissions should be sent to:
